Uses

Himfloor SL conductive /SL Dissipative have been designed for use in areas where a static conductive or a static dissipative floor is required as a measure to control static electricity.
Moreover, they provide a dense. Impervious, coloured and chemical resistant floor surface which is hygienic and easy to clean.
Typical areas of use include electronics manufacture and assembly. Clean rooms, computer rooms, hazardous dust and chemical environnements and hospital operating theatres.

Advantages

  • Static control-provides an effective passage to earth.
  • Hygienic- provides a dense, impervious seamless floor surface which is easily cleaned.
  • Durable-good abrasion resistance.
  • Aesthetical appearance-available in a wide range of colours to enhance the working environnement.
  • Chemical resistant-good resistance to a wide range of chemicals.
  • Solvent free.

Product description

Himfloor SL conductive /SL dissipative consist of blended epoxy resins, curing agents, graded inert aggregates and a colour pot. They are flow applied floor toppings for use at thickness of 2 minutes the system comprises an epoxy primer, a conductive epoxy undercoat and a 2 minutes thick epoxy topcoat.
When laid himfloor SL conductive /SL dissipative provide a seamless, smooth, light reflective surface, they are available in a wide range of standard RAL colours.

Colours

himfloor SL conductive/SL dissipative can be supplied in 24 standard RAL Colours, please consult colour card.

Flooring system

1 layer of HIMF primer 31
1 layer of SL Conductive/SL Dissipative undercoat
1 layer of SL Conductive/SL Dissipative topcoat

Maintenance

The service life of floor can considerably extended by good housekeeping. Regular cleaning may be out using a rotary scrubbing machine with a water miscible cleaning agent at temperature up to 50°C

Temperature limitations

Him floor SL conductive /SL dissipative should not be applied at temperature below 5°C, nor at a substrate temperature which is lower than the dew point temperature plus 3°C. the maximum application temperature is 35°C.

Inspection and planning

Careful inspection of the substrate is necessary. All existing expansion or movement joints should be bridged with earthling connection in order to secure the conductivity of the floor.

Surface Preparation

I t is essential to thoroughly prepare the floor surface in order to achieve a sound, clean and dry substrate and to achieve the necessary adhesive bond between the necessary adhesive bond between the substrate and new floor, concrete substrate acid wash, grit blasting, milling or a combination of these techniques, the substrate needs to be levelled before applying Him floor SL conductive/SL dissipative.

Limitations

New concrete floors should be at least 28 days old and give a hygrometer reading not exceeding 5% (protimeter).
With non-self-supporting concrete floors transfer of moisture from the soil might occur, resulting in adhesion failures of the flooring system. In order to judge the suitability of a substrate beforehand. Apply the sober mat test.
Him floor SL conductive/SL dissipative. Should not be applied to asphalt. Unmodified sand/ cement screeds.pvc tiles or vinyl. For information on other substrates, consult HIM Netherlands.

Primer

Apply HIM primer 31 on the prepared substrate. Mix both components of the primer till a homogeneous mixture is obtained. The primer should be applied immediately with a roller or brush in a thin continuous film. Care should be taken to avoid over application or puddles. If the existing floor is very porous a second coat may be necessary. Him floor SL conductive/SL dissipative
Undercoat is applied when the primer is cured(minimum) 12 hours, but within 24 hours).

Mixing topcoat

Proper mixing of the components is essential. Mix the base and hardener vessel. Add the colour pot and mix till an even colour is shown. Add the aggregate filler and mix all components for another b3-5 till a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Do not add solvents is important that all components are intermixed thoroughly with a forced-action mixer or an approved spiral paddle in a slow speed heavy-duty drill a that no traces of the components remain unmixed.

Curing time at 20°C

Foot traffic after approx 24 hours vehicular traffic after 36 hours and fully cured after 7 days.

Tool cleaning

Him floor SL conductive/SL dissipative undercoat should be removed from tools and equipment with water immediately after use. Hardened material can only be removed mechanically.
Him floor SL conductive/SL dissipative topcoat should be removed from tools and equipment with him solvent 120 immediately after use.

Shelf life

Him floor SL conductive/SL dissipative have a shelf life of 12 months if kept in a dry, cool store in the original,
Unopened packs.

Safety precautions

Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Use only in well ventilated areas. In case of insufficient ventilation areas. Wear suitable respiratory equipment. Does not breath vapour.
Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye/ face protection. If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately and show the container or label-do not induce vomiting.
After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap. In case of contact with eyes. Rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.

Application undercoat

Apply the mixed undercoat with a roller or brush on the primer at a material consumption rate of 6-7m2/kg.care should be taken to avoid over application or puddles. The undercoat provides a conductive / dissipative passage to earth and correct application and strict adherence to coverage rates Ares critical to the final electrical properties of the completed floor.
The undercoat is a water dispersed epoxy and therefore good drying conditions are required to allow complete evaporation of the water as the resin cures. Adequate ventilation and air movement is necessary. Thorough covering of earthen connections is essential. The conductivity of the undercoat needs to be measured before applying the topcoat. The surface resistance should be.

Him floor SL dissipative 3.1-4.3 * 104 Ohm

Mixing topcoat

Proper mixing of the components is essential. Mix the base and hardener vessel. Add the colour pot and mix till an even colour is shown. Add the aggregate filler and mix all components for another b3-5 till a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Do not add solvents is important that all components are intermixed

Application topcoat

When mixed. Him floor SL conductive/SL dissipative, topcoat should be poured immediately on the surface and spread in the right coat thickness (2mm) with a steel trowel or afloat. Immediately after application the surface should be firmly rolled in two directions with a nylon spiked roller. A second light rolling in two directions is necessary about 30 minutes later.
Him floor SL conductive/SL dissipative will become an even coloured, dense, impervious conductive/dissipative floor topping.
